Max Bank (Abe Slaney) Max is a New York City based actor and writer. He is thrilled to be playing a villain with Hudson Classical Theater Company again, as he has done 2.5 times before. Previous credits include Joseph Surface in School for Scandal and Max in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (both with Hudson Classical Theater Company), Juror Eight in Twelve Angry Men (City Gate Productions), and Aslaksen in An Enemy of the People (Iona University). When not speaking in third person, he hosts Cage Match, New York City’s most dangerous comedy show, at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre every Thursday at 10pm.

Will Burns* (Inspector Lestrade) Will is so damn happy to be working with Hudson Classical Theater Company! Off Broadway credits include The Captive Moon (Gene Frankel Theater) The Fake Husband (Angela F. Austin Theater). Regional Theater credits include Rock of Ages, Sense and Sensibility (Theatre Workshop of Nantucket), Staten Island! The Musical (Avenel Performing Arts Center). Dixie Carroll (Elsie Cubitt) Dixie is excited to be back with Hudson Classical Theater Company for the second year in a row after performing in Sense and Sensibility last summer and in The Weak Sister at this spring’s WAGG (Writers-A-Go-Go) One-Act Play Festival. Additional recent stage credits include: In the Hot Seat and The Wayward Women, 2025 Queen’s Short Play Semi-Finalist and Finalist, respectively, The Girl with the Red Hair, Hidden in this Picture, and Trojan Women. She has been a featured soprano soloist in Bach’s Cantata No. 21 and Mendelssohn’s Elijah and sings regularly with the Holy Trinity Parish & Bach Vespers choirs in Lincoln Square. TV Credits include: “Diabolical” (ID) and “Trapped” (GCflix). Mario del Cubo (Hilton Cubitt) Mario is delighted to make his Hudson Classical Theater Company debut in The Dancing Men: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery. Recent credits include Chess Story at the Wild Project, “Filthy Rich” (Amazon Prime), The Second Coming at Mabou Mines (playwright), and a two-year performance contract aboard TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 1 & 2. Alison Logan* (Mrs. Saunders/Mrs. Hudson) Alison moved in July ‘24 from New Orleans (though she is a Chicago native). SAG/AFTRA and AEA. BFA Acting (Millikin University) and Second City Conservatory graduate (Chicago). She was in Metamorphoses as Erysichthon and Sleep at Gallery Players (Brooklyn), Tiffany in America's Got Horror at The Broadway Comedy Club (Manhattan), and was Judge Kennedy in Guilty the Musical in Queens. Recent stand-up show at The Comedy Cellar. Past credits include: Adelaide in Guys And Dolls, Barbara DeMarco in Sheer Madness, and Mary in Murder On The Orient Express. John Moss* (Dr. Beadleman) John was honored to have his play The Weak Sister chosen for Hudson Classical Theater Company’s one-act W.A.G.G. play festival this year. Tennessee Williams called him one of the best to play the Duenna in the author's Camino Real. Screening at Shakespeare’s Globe in London, he has performed “Sonnet 37” for the Shakespeare Exchange. Stage: Alan Stewart’s Lullaby for Winnie at Manhattan Theatre Club, Bara Swain’s If You See a Hyena, Barry Malawer's Michael and George, Miranda Jonte's St. Francis, John Minigan's Easter at the Entree Gold, Jane Anderson's The Quality of Life, Regional: Bellomy in The Fantasticks, Arthur Freed in What a Glorious Feeling. Nicholas Martin-Smith (Sherlock Holmes) Mr. Martin-Smith founded Hudson Classical Theater Company in 2004 and served as its Artistic Director for 18 years. On stage he has appeared in the title role of both Titus Andronicus, and Macbeth. Other favorites include Aramis in both The Three Musketeers: Twenty Years Later and The Man in the Iron Mask. Also for HCTC, he has directed, among other plays, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, as well as the award winning MARGARET: Shakespeare’s Warrior Queen, an adaptation he created from Shakespeare’s Henry VI trilogy. Mr. Martin-Smith also had the pleasure of directing the world premiere of a new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s “The D’Artagnan Romances” which includes The Three Musketeers, The Three Musketeers: Twenty Years Later, The Man in the Iron Mask, as well as the classic The Count of Monte Cristo, all adapted by his long-time collaborator Susane Lee.

Quint Spitzer (Dr. John Watson) Quint is a graduate of Fordham University and the National Shakespeare Conservatory. An actor since the early 80s, Quint has appeared in such roles as Caliban in The Tempest, Orsino in Twelfth Night, and Nick in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Last summer he played Dr Wangel in The Lady from the Sea (right here at Hudson Classical Theater Company). Quint is also producer/presenter on the local theatre and music scene for such companies as MRM Productions, The Red Monkey Theater Group, and Theatre 5 Productions. He has helmed NYC productions of The Lady’s Not for Burning, Othello, Italian American Reconciliation to name a few.

PRODUCTION TEAM

Susane Lee (Writer & Director) is the Executive Artistic Director of Hudson Classical Theater Company and founder of W.A.G.G. (Writers-A-Go-Go). She has adapted & directed several productions for HCTC, including Pride & Prejudice, Lysisarah, and co-directed Emma. She has also directed for 365 Women a Year Playwrights Festival and received Best Director Finalist, twice, for the Take Ten Theater Festival. She recently directed Lucy Wang’s one-woman show, The Silver Menace. Susane has adapted many classics for the stage including six Alexandre Dumas novels The Three Musketeers, The Three Musketeers: 20 Years Later, The Man in the Iron Mask, and The Count of Monte Cristo as well as three Jane Austen novels: Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice, and Emma. The Dancing Men: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery is her first Sir Arthur Conan Doyle adaptation. She’s thrilled to write the role of Sherlock Holes for her long-time collaborator Nicholas Martin-Smith in this lesser known short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Susane began her career in television where she was at WGBH/NOVA series for several years, then at Channel 13 where she traveled to more than 100 cities across the US., producing and writing one hour documentaries for 12 years. She’s a Lifetime member of the Writers Guild of America, East and a member of SAG/AFTRA. Susane published a memoir in MORE Magazine and was a Finalist for the Artistic Achievement Award given by the League of Independent Theater in the fall of 2024.

Sarah Lillian (Production Stage Manager) Sarah is a stage manager and intimacy director based in NYC. She is so pumped to be joining Hudson Classical Theater Company for the 2026 Summer season. Sarah is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and the Professional Apprenticeship in Stage Management at the Juilliard School. Joy Grad (Costume Designer) Joy is thrilled to be a part of The Dancing Men: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, her second Hudson Classical Theater Company production in Riverside Park. Joy’s first show with HCTC was last summer’s Julius Caesar. Joy’s costume design credits include West Side Story and In The Heights at Cardinal Hayes High School, and Night at the Savoy for Project Connect. Joy produced vintage fashion shows for Swing Remix events, and is a vintage clothing vendor. She teaches ballroom dance and performs with The Timeless Torches, a dance team for the WNBA New York Liberty basketball team. Anastasia Koronioti-Davis (Associate Costume Designer) Anastasia recently worked on Hudson Classical Theater Company’s production of Uncle Vanya and Hamlet and is excited to work on all three shows of their summer season. She has designed dance costumes for performers in MOPTOP Showcase, Prelude Dance Competition, General Mischief Dance Theater's Along The Way and international salsa competitions. An architect and dancer/performer herself, Anastasia loves to bring depth to characters on stage through texture, color and movement. She enjoys creating upcycle fashion and swimwear. Anastasia is based in NYC and loves traveling, but you can find her on Instagram @anastasiakd_sunshine.

Karen Eterovich (Dance Coordinator) Karen worked on dances for Hudson Classical Theater Company first with Bob Wassinger on Pride & Prejudice in 2019 when she also played Lady Catherine Du Bourgh and a Dancing Lady and most recently, last year, when she coordinated the dances for Sense & Sensibility. Also with Hudson Classical Theater Company: Gertrude in 2018’s Hamlet, Queen Anne The Three Musketeers & Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest (2014). Tony Mita (Fight Director) Tony has been training & working in this art for over 15 years and is driven by a mix of his passions for historical martial arts and nerd culture to create a blend of martially realistic with out-of-this-world fantastical in his work. Tony has been the fight director of many Hudson Classical Theater Company’s productions over the years.

Annie Levy (Assistant Stage Manager) This is Annie’s first production working with Hudson Classical Theater Company. After a career in ballet she is excited to learn the technical aspects of the work that goes on behind the scenes and is very grateful and excited for this opportunity!
